Product Description

The Bounty Hunter QuickDraw II (QD2) is a versatile metal detector designed for both beginner and experienced treasure hunters. Equipped with patented microprocessor-controlled technology, it offers a motion detection system that identifies various metals through distinct audio tones. Featuring an LCD target display, the QD2 provides real-time feedback on probable metal types and depth estimation, enhancing search efficiency. Its 8-inch waterproof searchcoil allows for detection in various terrains, while the three detection modes—All Metal, Discriminate, and Auto Notch—enable users to fine-tune their search preferences. Whether coin-shooting, relic hunting, or general-purpose detecting, this unit offers precision and reliability.

Designed for comfort and durability, the QD2 features an ergonomic S-rod handle system with an extended armrest for improved balance and reduced fatigue during long searches. The touchpad controls allow for easy adjustments, while the adjustable discrimination settings help eliminate unwanted items like iron and pull-tabs. A built-in headphone jack provides an option for private detection sessions, improving sound clarity. Powered by two 9V alkaline batteries, the QD2 ensures long-lasting performance in the field. Whether you are searching for coins, jewelry, or historical artifacts, the Bounty Hunter QuickDraw II is an excellent choice for uncovering hidden treasures with accuracy and ease.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can the QuickDraw II detect multiple targets at the same time?

Yes, but the LCD display and audio tones will provide the strongest signal for the most dominant target. If multiple objects are close together, the detector may struggle to distinguish them separately. Sweeping at different angles and isolating each signal by using slower passes can help differentiate multiple targets.

How does the QuickDraw II handle mineralized soil, and can it be used on wet sand?

The QuickDraw II has a preset ground balance, meaning it cannot be manually adjusted for mineralized soil or saltwater conditions. It may experience false signals on wet, salty sand or heavily mineralized ground. Reducing sensitivity and using discrimination settings can help mitigate interference in challenging environments.

What is the detection depth for different types of metals?

Detection depth depends on metal size, orientation, soil conditions, and sensitivity settings. Generally, the QuickDraw II can detect:

    • Coins: 6–8 inches (15–20 cm)
    • Larger relics: Up to 12+ inches (30+ cm)
    • Small gold items: 3–5 inches (7–12 cm), depending on mineralization

Does the QuickDraw II have a true motion pinpoint mode?

No, the QuickDraw II does not have a dedicated pinpoint button. However, users can pinpoint targets by slowly moving the searchcoil in an "X" pattern over the signal location and narrowing the response area. Sensitivity can be lowered to refine pinpointing accuracy.
Will the QuickDraw II detect fine gold, such as small flakes or nuggets?
It is not optimized for gold prospecting, as it operates at 6.6 kHz, which is not ideal for detecting very small gold nuggets. However, it can still detect larger gold items like rings and chains. For better gold detection, a detector with a higher frequency (15 kHz or higher) would be recommended.
Can the QuickDraw II detect through rocks, roots, or clay?
Yes, but detection depth can be reduced by mineralized rocks or dense clay. Some "hot rocks" with high iron content may cause false signals. Using discrimination settings can help filter out unwanted signals from mineralized materials.
