The Fisher TW-82 Digital Line Tracer is a reliable, single-frequency tool specifically designed for tracing conductive lines such as pipes, cables, and electrical lines. With simple one-button operation and a rugged, weatherproof design, it is ideal for locating utilities in various environments. The TW-82 provides continuous readouts of depth and signal strength, ensuring accurate and efficient tracing. Its versatility comes from its three tracing methods—conductive, inductive, and coupling clamp—making it adaptable to different locating scenarios.
Modes:
Conductive Mode: This is the preferred method for tracing buried utilities. The transmitter is directly connected to the utility with conductive tracing cables, creating the strongest signal for the receiver to detect.
Inductive Mode: When a direct connection is unavailable, the transmitter magnetically couples an energizing current to the utility. This method requires some prior knowledge of the utility’s location for optimal placement of the transmitter.
Coupling Clamp Mode: When the utility is exposed but does not allow for direct connection, the coupling clamp accessory can be used to magnetically couple an energizing current from the transmitter into the utility
Purpose: Utility Locating, Cable Detection, Pipe Locating
