    Frequently Asked Questions

Can the Fast Tracker be used for gold prospecting?

EMI from power lines, WiFi routers, and electronic devices can cause erratic signals. To minimize interference, reduce sensitivity, move away from EMI sources, or use the detector in an outdoor environment.

How does the Fast Tracker handle mineralized soil conditions?

The Fast Tracker does not have manual ground balancing, meaning it relies on automatic adjustments. Highly mineralized or wet sand conditions can cause fluctuations. Try reducing sensitivity or using discrimination mode to minimize these effects.

Can I use the Fast Tracker in wet conditions?

Set the discrimination to a low level (around 11 o’clock) to avoid eliminating small gold signals. Gold can sometimes register similarly to pull-tabs, so be prepared to dig some trash while fine-tuning for gold signals.

What types of metal can the Fast Tracker detect?

Use the “X” technique—move the coil in a cross pattern over the suspected target. Weak signals might require slightly lifting the coil to refine detection and minimize overlap interference from nearby metals.
How deep can the Fast Tracker detect targets?
Yes, but it is optimized for coin and relic hunting. For larger objects, use All-Metal mode with sensitivity turned up. Moving the coil slower over a suspected area can help identify larger buried metals.
How does the discrimination control improve detection?
The search coil is waterproof and can be submerged, but the control box is not. Ensure that only the coil is in water and keep the control housing dry to prevent damage.
