Product Description

The Bounty Hunter Land Star is a professional-grade metal detector designed for treasure hunters and hobbyists seeking a high-performance tool for relic hunting, coin shooting, and other metal detection activities. Equipped with a large, easy-to-read LCD display, the Land Star provides accurate target identification and depth readings, helping users quickly determine the type of metal detected. Its advanced discrimination and auto-notch modes enable the device to differentiate between valuable finds and unwanted items, such as iron or pull tabs, ensuring that users spend less time digging up trash and more time uncovering treasures.

Built for outdoor use, the Land Star offers superior sensitivity adjustments, allowing for optimal performance in different soil conditions, including highly mineralized grounds or saltwater environments. With manual ground balancing and waterproof searchcoil capabilities, it’s perfect for searching in a wide range of terrains. Whether you’re looking for ancient relics, coins, or even property markers, the Land Star combines precision, reliability, and ease of use to help you get the most out of your metal detecting adventures.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can the Land Star detect through wet or salty sand?

Yes, but mineralization in wet sand or saltwater can interfere with detection. The Ground-Trac® feature helps adjust for mineralization, but you may need to manually ground balance by fine-tuning the Ground Balance knob. If detecting at the beach, lower sensitivity slightly to avoid false signals.

How can I tell the difference between trash items and valuable targets?

Some pull-tabs and gold rings fall in the same conductivity range, making discrimination tricky. However, a gold ring may produce a "double beep" while pull-tabs generally give a single beep. Try sweeping slowly and at different angles—a double signal often indicates a ring-shaped object.

Why does my detector give inconsistent depth readings?

Depth readings are most accurate for coin-sized objects. If an item is larger, oddly shaped, or lying at an angle, the detector may struggle to determine depth. Also, high mineralization can affect readings. Try scanning from different directions and lifting the coil slightly to refine the depth estimate.

How do I avoid false signals when detecting near power lines or buildings?

Electromagnetic interference (EMI) from power lines, Wi-Fi routers, or underground utilities can cause erratic signals. To minimize this, lower sensitivity, avoid sweeping too quickly, and move to an open area. If interference persists, try using All Metal Mode with adjusted sensitivity.
Can the Land Star detect gold nuggets?
While it can detect larger gold objects, the 7.1 kHz frequency is not ideal for very fine gold nuggets. For better results, use All Metal Mode, keep sensitivity high, and scan slowly in areas with minimal interference.
How do I ensure I’m getting maximum detection depth?
  • Use All Metal Mode (it detects the deepest).
  • Max out sensitivity (but reduce if instability occurs).
  • Keep the search coil low and parallel to the ground.
  • Manually ground balance for better depth penetration in mineralized soil.
