Product Description

The Bounty Hunter Gold is designed for hobbyists and entry-level prospectors who want a reliable, easy-to-use metal detector with gold-finding capability. Tailored for those hunting in mineralized soils or coin-rich areas, its standout feature is the automatic ground balance that filters out false signals from harsh terrain.

With its 8-inch waterproof searchcoil and visual/audio target ID, the Gold delivers solid performance in varied conditions. It detects coin-sized objects up to 9 inches deep and offers three-tone audio to differentiate between iron, gold, and silver. Adjustable discrimination and notch modes let you hone in on valuable targets while ignoring junk. The intuitive LCD displays target type and depth, while a sensitivity adjustment helps manage electromagnetic interference.

Weighing just over 2 lbs, the detector features a padded grip, adjustable shaft, and ergonomic design for extended use. A single 9V battery powers the unit for up to 25 hours, and the rugged construction ensures durability in the field. Whether scanning open ground or navigating tight spots, the Bounty Hunter Gold is built to keep you searching longer and digging smarter.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What types of metal can the Bounty Hunter Gold detect?

It can detect all types of metal, including iron, aluminum, gold, silver, brass, and steel. With its discrimination and notch settings, you can focus on valuable targets and filter out trash items.

Is the detector good for finding gold?

Yes. While it’s not a high-frequency prospecting unit, the Bounty Hunter Gold is capable of detecting medium to large gold items, especially in less mineralized ground. It’s a great entry-level option for casual gold hunting.

Can I use it on the beach?

You can use it on dry sand and some wet sand areas, but it’s not ideal for saltwater beaches due to its preset ground balance. For highly mineralized or salty environments, a model with manual ground balance is better.

    Is the searchcoil waterproof?

Yes, the 8-inch concentric searchcoil is waterproof and safe for shallow water detection. Just be sure not to submerge the control box, as it is not waterproof.

How deep can it detect objects?

The detector can locate coin-sized objects up to approximately 9 inches deep. Larger objects can be detected at even greater depths.

Does it have a pinpoint mode?

It does not have a dedicated pinpoint button, but accurate pinpointing can be done using sweep techniques and narrowing your search area with repeatable tones.

Is this detector good for beginners?

Absolutely. The Bounty Hunter Gold is user-friendly with simple controls, preset ground balance, and an easy-to-read LCD display, making it ideal for beginners.

What kind of battery does it use, and how long does it last?

It runs on a single 9-volt alkaline battery, providing approximately 20–25 hours of use. Rechargeable 9V batteries can also be used but offer a shorter runtime.

Does it have audio tones for different metals?

Yes, it features three-tone audio ID—low, medium, and high—to help you distinguish between iron, gold, and silver targets based on the tone pitch.

What accessories are compatible with this detector?

Accessories like headphones (1/4” jack), digging tools, a carry bag, searchcoil covers, and a pinpointer are available separately and enhance the overall detecting experience.
