Product Description

The Bounty Hunter Tracker II is an easy-to-use metal detector ideal for beginners who want to explore coin shooting, relic hunting, and general metal detection. Featuring a simple interface with three detection modes, it balances affordability with capability—making it a reliable choice for first-time users and casual hobbyists alike.

With motion-based detection and an automatic ground balancing system, the Tracker II offers solid performance across various soil types. It distinguishes metal types with a dual-tone audio system and lets users fine-tune results using adjustable discrimination. Whether you're after coins, jewelry, or hidden relics, its VLF technology, three search modes (All-Metal, Tone, and Discrimination), and high-sensitivity settings help reduce false signals while detecting targets accurately.

Built with a durable yet lightweight frame, the Tracker II includes an adjustable stem and padded armrest for long-term comfort. The weather-resistant, waterproof searchcoil adds versatility for outdoor terrain, while its intuitive knobs and plug-and-play setup make it approachable for any user. Powered by two 9V alkaline batteries, it’s ready for hours of uninterrupted treasure hunting.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Bounty Hunter Tracker II a good choice for beginners?

Yes. The Tracker II is designed with simplicity in mind. With just a few control knobs and intuitive modes, it’s ideal for first-time users or hobbyists looking for a reliable, affordable metal detector.

What kind of objects can it detect?

The Tracker II can detect a wide range of metal objects—including coins, relics, jewelry, and larger buried items. Its discrimination and tone ID features help users distinguish between trash and treasure.

Can the Tracker II detect gold?

Yes, it can detect gold, particularly larger items like rings. However, like most detectors in this class, small gold flakes or fine chains may be harder to identify and can sound similar to pull-tabs.

Does it show what kind of metal you've found?

No. The Tracker II does not have visual Target ID or numeric readouts. Instead, it uses two-tone audio feedback (low and high tones) to help identify different types of metal.

Can I use it on the beach or in wet areas?

You can use it in wet environments, but only the searchcoil is waterproof. The control box is not weatherproof, so it must be kept dry. It's suitable for dry sand or shallow freshwater edges with caution.

How deep can it detect metal objects?

Detection depth depends on the size and type of metal. For coin-sized objects, it can typically detect up to 6–8 inches deep, while larger items can be found at greater depths.

Does it come with a pinpointing function?

No, the Tracker II does not include a built-in pinpoint mode. However, accurate pinpointing can be achieved by using the “X-ing” technique described in the manual.

Can I adjust the sensitivity for different conditions?

Yes. The sensitivity knob allows you to reduce interference from power lines or mineralized soil, making it easier to detect targets accurately in various environments.

What kind of batteries does it use and how long do they last?

The detector uses two 9V alkaline batteries, providing approximately 20–25 hours of use depending on conditions and headphone usage.

What types of metal detecting is it best suited for?

The Tracker II is well-suited for coin shooting, jewelry hunting, relic hunting, and general-purpose detecting. It’s also useful for finding property markers or lost metal items.
