Product Description

The Bounty Hunter Tracker II is a versatile metal detector designed for both beginners and seasoned detectorists. It features three operating modes—All Metal, Tone, and Discrimination—allowing users to tailor their search for relics, coins, jewelry, or hidden caches. With advanced motion detection technology and an adjustable discrimination setting, the Tracker II ensures accurate target identification while minimizing interference from unwanted metals. The built-in ground balancing system helps filter out mineralized soil, making it suitable for various terrains. Its lightweight design, coupled with an ergonomic handle, ensures comfort during extended detecting sessions.

Equipped with a waterproof searchcoil, the MTK2 Tracker II is ideal for detecting in shallow water or damp environments. The easy-to-use interface includes sensitivity and discrimination controls, enabling users to fine-tune their searches for optimal performance. A dual-tone audio response system provides clear signals for different metal types, enhancing detection accuracy. Powered by two 9-volt alkaline batteries, this detector offers long-lasting operation in the field. Whether searching for historical artifacts, lost valuables, or hidden treasures, the MTK2 Tracker II delivers reliable performance with user-friendly controls and durable construction.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How does the MTK2 Tracker II handle electromagnetic interference (EMI) in urban environments?

The MTK2 Tracker II is sensitive to EMI from power lines, Wi-Fi signals, and nearby electronic devices. To minimize interference, reduce sensitivity, avoid using it near transformers or high-voltage lines, and maintain at least 20 feet of distance from another active detector.

Can I use the MTK2 Tracker II in saltwater environments?

The searchcoil is waterproof, allowing shallow water detection, but the control housing must remain dry. In saltwater, reduce sensitivity to counteract mineralized ground interference, and manually ground balance for better performance.

Why does the MTK2 Tracker II sometimes produce multiple tones over the same target?

    Multiple tones usually indicate:

    • A target with mixed metal composition (e.g., a coin with iron debris nearby).
    • Two closely buried objects.
    • Highly oxidized metal creating inconsistent signals.
Using pinpointing techniques or adjusting discrimination can help isolate the desired target.

What’s the best way to detect thin gold chains or small gold nuggets?

Small gold objects often fall within the same range as aluminum foil and pull-tabs. To increase detection chances:

    • Use All Metal Mode for maximum sensitivity.
    • Keep the Discrimination setting low, as gold is easily masked by high discrimination.
    • Sweep slowly and close to the ground to improve signal detection.
Can the MTK2 Tracker II detect objects buried vertically?
Yes, but detecting vertically buried objects can be harder than horizontal ones since the coil’s detection field is wider than deep. Use a cross-sweeping technique from different angles to improve target identification.
How can I reduce the chance of missing valuable targets while using discrimination mode?

When using high discrimination settings, small valuable items (like thin gold rings or old coins) can be accidentally eliminated. To avoid this:

    • Start in All Metal Mode, then gradually increase discrimination while testing targets.
    • Listen for faint but consistent signals, as deep targets may produce weaker tones.
    • Use Tone Mode to identify potential valuable targets before fully eliminating signals.
