    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best way to detect small gold nuggets with the Quick Draw Pro?

The Quick Draw Pro operates at a frequency optimized for general-purpose metal detecting. However, to improve detection of small gold nuggets, reduce discrimination settings, increase sensitivity, and use slow, overlapping sweeps in highly mineralized areas.

Can the Quick Draw Pro distinguish between aluminum foil and small gold jewelry?

Aluminum foil and small gold items can have similar conductivity. To differentiate, use the notch feature to eliminate typical aluminum foil responses and conduct multiple passes at different angles to observe signal consistency.

How does soil mineralization impact detection depth, and how can it be minimized?

High-mineralized soil can create false signals and reduce detection depth. To minimize its effects, lower sensitivity slightly, use the pinpoint mode to confirm targets, and ground balance manually by slightly lifting and lowering the coil to find a stable response.

Is there a way to boost the depth detection of larger targets?

Yes, reducing discrimination and using a slower sweep speed can help detect larger targets at greater depths. Additionally, using a larger searchcoil (such as an 11” Biaxial coil) will enhance depth capabilities for bigger objects.
Can the Quick Draw Pro detect metal objects submerged in water?
The searchcoil is waterproof and can be submerged in freshwater, but the control box is not. For best results in wet conditions, keep the control box dry and use a waterproof cover if necessary.
Why does my detector overload near certain areas or objects?
Overload occurs when detecting highly conductive or large metallic objects too close to the coil. If overload persists, raise the coil slightly and approach the target at a different angle to refine identification.
