Worth it

Great customer service! First off, my product was never updated by UPS and was "lost". I emailed Arturo and within a couple days, he shipped a new package and got to me in 2 days

This is analog NV accessible to the poors. Does exactly what you'd expect NV to do. Allows you to see in low light, and or no light with IR mode on. Do research about NV, all NV has narrow FOV (including these) and to focus these correctly you need a to set these monoculars a bit further from your eye than you think.

Only downside is these are handheld so technically you're supposed to hold them, but that won't stop anyone from ziptying a go pro mount to your head. Bam, PVS14's we have at home

    Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the image take several minutes to fade after turning off the Night Owl Optics NOXM42-AL?

The image remains visible for a short period due to the phosphor screen inside the image intensifier tube retaining a charge. The electrons continue striking the screen even after power-off, causing a lingering afterimage. The discharge process is slower in darker environments and faster in well-lit conditions.

Can I use an external power source with the Night Owl Optics NOXM42-AL?

No, the NOXM42-AL is designed to operate solely on a single CR123 lithium battery. The internal voltage conversion system boosts the 3V battery to 17,000V for the image intensifier tube. Using an external power source could result in voltage irregularities that may damage the internal components.

Why do I see faint ghost images or reflections when using the Night Owl Optics NOXM42-AL?

This is caused by internal light reflections within the optical system or the image intensifier tube itself. When using the device indoors or in confined areas with infrared illumination, the light can bounce back and create artifacts. In an outdoor environment with proper ambient light, these reflections are minimized.

What happens if I accidentally expose the Night Owl Optics NOXM42-AL to bright light?

If exposed to bright light while powered on, the automatic brightness protection system will attempt to limit damage. However, prolonged exposure can permanently degrade the image intensifier tube, resulting in black spots or complete failure. Always ensure the lens cap is on when the device is not in use.

Why does the field of view appear clearer in the center but more distorted at the edges?

The optical system of the NOXM42-AL is designed with high-resolution correction in the center of the image intensifier tube. The periphery may experience some optical distortion due to the inherent curvature of the phosphor screen and lens system. This is a characteristic of most Generation 1 night vision devices and does not indicate a defect.
